How DO I APPLY?

There are sixteen places available on the 2026 NYPE residency. We invite you to make an application by filling out the form above.

We expect to be over subscribed to the course this year so we will try to invite applicants we believe will gain the most from the NYPE experience.

elegibility

 

All applicants must be;

​​​​

1. Aged 18 or under and in full time education at the time of the course.

2. Grade 8 or above standard in percussion (or drum kit).

3. Able to read music to a high level.

4. Able to commit adequate time prior to the course to learn individual parts in preparation for rehearsals.

5. Able to attend the full summer course.

6. Able to organise travel arrangements to Wells Cathedral School.

Preferable Requirements (but not essential)

​

1. Ensemble experience to a high level (county/national)

2. Competent four mallet technique

FEES

The 2026 summer course fee will be £850.00 for the five days, Tuesday 11th August to Saturday 15th.
This includes tuition,  accommodation and three meals per day.

There is nothing to pay here, at this stage. We will consider every application and will reply with details on
how to pay when accepted for the course.

We are able to offer advice on charitable trusts that may be able to help with the fees if required.
